Whew - we made it!! After being home with Jer since Christmas Eve tomorrow is back to school for him and back to work for me. (Tom already went back for a few days last week). As exhausting as it is entertaining a 4 year old, it was a lot of fun!! I'm really going to miss him this week.

One thing we had wanted to do was some major decluttering. TODAY (because the last two weeks we didn't have enough time apparently - LOL) we cleaned up the pantry, the food cupboard, the bar area and the storage room. Everything looks GREAT!! I just hope we can keep it that way.

Early bedtime for me - I haven't had to see 6am for a very long time ;)

Cheers!

Well my goal was to blog every day, but things are always a little interesting around here LOL
We all slept in New Year's Day and then went out to Zoom Zoom's for a playdate. Lots of kids running around, tons of snacks and plenty of chatting with friends. Then off to Grandma's for the New Year's Day gluttony tradition.

Now I'm not sure why Tom didn't ask or anyone didn't clarify BEFORE he ate one, but Tom had an "unknown" appetizer that Mom's neighbour made for the night before. It had crab in it. Great. Thank goodness Julie noticed and Ryan was on the ball to get Tom to Mac pretty quick. And it was also a great thing Tom had "just" taken a Reactine before going up there.

So Tom's at the ER and the rest of us are eating Chinese and playing Wii. I picked him up a couple of hours later once he was released and the three of us had a pretty quiet night. I felt bad as I know Mom worried because she called twice and once this morning checking up on him.

Today it was a pretty much a vegging day. After dropping off the van for some maintenance and Jer and I were done at the library, we just stayed and played at home for the rest of the day. Tom had a great idea of going to the Keg for supper - YUM!!! So we dropped Jer off at mil's and off we went. I had the mushroom steak and Tom had his Teriyaki steak.

Tomorrow is my last day of vacation. Although I'll be sad to go back to work, it'll be good to get back into a routine.

Cheers!

Happy New Year!!!

Goodbye 2009 - Hello 2010!!

New Year's Eve is one of those nostalgic times of the year for me ... a time of reflection and remembering the great and not so great memories. I have to admit 2009 was a pretty great year.

I hate making New Year's Resolutions as they're usually broken by January 3rd (if they even last that long ;)) But the one thing I will try to commit to is to keep this blog going. I'm working on a layout per day for 2010 - project 365 or whatever other name it's going by these days. I think if I kept an electronic journal as well as a paper one then I might just have a chance of getting *something* for every day.

So raising a glass (in this case it's a chocolate martini) and Happy New Year!! Here's hoping this next decade is as great as the last ;)

Cheers!
