more *good* news .... *sigh*

I had plans to meet Lisa for brunch today at Cora's. Yummy food. Conversation was fun. Talked about the families, homes, work ... then she asked about my sister's. And Jule's adoption, and I didn't even see it coming. Somehow we got on how everytime I hear about someone else being pregnant, it's like a punch to the gut. And something clicked. I looked up and she had the most apologetic face. Yep. Pregnant with #4. Seriously. I help back tears until I was almost home with Jer. The I let it all out. On the plus side we now have a new storage place for all our baby stuff, but it still hurst. Yes we have Jer. Yes he is wonderful But it's just not fair.

I went out for a run and that felt really good. I'll update more on the week later. I need to go dig out some clothes for baby B. *sigh*

The new plan ....

I. AM. SOOOOO. EXCITED!!!
I have a plan. Actually, it's something I've thought of several times, but then quickly dismissed. It's so unrealistic. It's not very responsible. But I just LOVE it!! Ironically, it was Tom who thought of the plan last night on the way to Toronto (more on that later - I can't get sidetracked now, LOL) So the plan is to give work a choice. I can work part time, or I can quit. Their choice. As much as I'd LOVE to go in on Monday with this "offer", I'm going to wait until most likely August.

1. I need to save a bit more. I'd like to have at least 3 months saved up so I don't need to stress out Tom too much ;) I'm putting a fair bit away via my CSB's so as long as I squirrel away a little more I'll be good August-ish.
2. Noone is goig to make this career change work but me. I need to take a risk. I need to take a chance. Really, there's no reason NOT to do this!
3. I get to call the shots. I'd like to work somewhere where I know I'd be happy... Not a warm body getting a paycheck.
4. I'm hoping, really hoping that by the time I'm ready to do this, the economy has picked up a little more ...

So there you have it.
My goal is to save up approx $7000 (that way Christmas is covered as well ;)) and when that happens I'll drop the shoe. Seriously. How exciting is that??

OK, OK so I'm starting to slip a bit. But life has been been busy as usual. We spent a lot of time toboganning this weekend. Saturday on the little hill at the Dundas Conservation Area and Sunday at Chedoke with Tom's family. Lots of snow. Lots of laughs. Too much fun!! Before tobaganning on Saturday we had a lazy pj day. LOVE those!! I think Jeremy's a big fan as well.

Monday was Jer's first swimming lesson (that we made it to) and he had a BLAST!! And of course we went to McDonalds before which is his special treat. He actually ate EVERYTHING!!!

Tonight Tom had to go to a family's friend visitation :( But Jer and I had a great time. We played Crocodile, Super Heroes, Justice League video game and of course a couple of episodes of his favorite guys in tights ;)

I still need to work on that goal list and the picture list. I can't believe it's already the 13th!! Where does the week go??

Cheers!

FREEZING!!!!

Here it is. January 9th. Winter has arrived! LOL
Checking the weather at 9am and it's -16C. OMG!!

We're keeping Jer home from "special language class" today as we're all tired from the week so it will be great to spend the day together just hanging out. The boys have been playing a new video game Tom found on ebay (Justice League - are you surprised??) and I've been surfing random things and working on my blog ... I think next is figuring out how to add pictures.

Last night was productive. 4 pages done and 3 are for the Disney book :) I also rearranged the photo albums so the Disney pics are now in 2 photo albums ... Maybe I did print a few too many pictures??

Seeing that's now the second week of January, time to start thinking about those goals for the yeat. I'm not a "New Year's Resolution" type of gal, only because that's too much pressure and I get disappointed when I fail. When I decided to quit smoking 6 years ago, it was February and it only worked because the timing was right, not because the calendar said it was time to quit .... So we'll see what I come up with today.

So stay warm and cheers!

Finally Friday!!

Today is Friday!!! I'm planning on having a lovely evening with me, myself and all that paper, (now that Jer has finally gone to bed!!)

Cheers!

Rough day

OK - so far so good. I can handle this every other day ... After all there is a 4 year old to play with, an ever mounting pile of laundry to put away, a hubby to love, food to cook, friends to visit and work to ... well, you get the idea - life is full ;)

Today Tom went to the Stuttering Workshop for Jer. Should be interesting. I think it's a good thing for him to go as it's typically always the mom who goes and has to "sell" the right way to do things (aka parent). At least that's how it is at my house ;) So this way, Tom gets to learn what to do and what not to do and I can just be the student for a change. Nice.

I popped by the library after work today to get a new Justice League movie for Jeremy. I also had to go to Fortino's for milk and bread. Just some regular errands that I can squeeze in between leaving work and picking up Jer without being too stressed about picking him up late or traffic or whatever. But there are some days like this one where I really have to wonder whether I would be better off just calling it quits and walking out. Seriously. Location is a lot, but it truly isn't everything. Yes, definetly something to ponder.

Yesterday I picked up my Costco pictures from the Disney trip. All 700+ of them. OMG!!! I can't WAIT to start scrapping this weekend :) I've already picked out a bunch of kits I want to use and have stories flowing in my head ... I hope this weekend is a productive scrapping one. I have so much to catch up on!

Back to "the hunt".
Cheers!

ugh. First day back at work after vacation is the worst!! But we've been talking lately about another trip to Disney this November. The big decision is how many days at Disney would I be willing to sacrifice for some time at Universal?? Hmmm... tough decision!! So far we're looking at 2 days for Universal and 5 at Disney (seems fair doesn't it?? LOL) I'm sure the plan will change about a dozen times between now and next Tuesday, but that's how I make it through the day - dreaming of days with the Mouse ;)

Cheers!
